The City of Tallahassee is proud to present the 2025 Sustainability Spotlight. In keeping with the City’s long-standing commitment to sustainability, significant progress has been made over the past year to move the City toward an even more sustainable future. While this work will never be complete, the City’s commitment to sustainability across all departments continues to move the needle forward to make Tallahassee a fantastic place to live, work and play.

This year’s online publication showcases the various initiatives the City is implementing to further its sustainability and highlights ways residents can get involved. Whether riding a StarMetro bus, using an e-scooter, exploring a new park or taking advantage of the City’s energy rebates, there is something for everyone to participate in and enjoy.

Below, explore the eight overarching goals that provide the framework for the City’s sustainability efforts. Through a combination of leadership, education, health promotion, economic investment, natural resource stewardship, clean energy, solid waste management and land use and mobility, each City department and resident plays an important role in our joint efforts to make the community more sustainable for future generations.
